My Homepage

Background

I grew up and finished my high school in Bangladesh, and came to USA in 2007 to attend Bard College, a small (and wonderful) liberal arts college in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. My interests and therefore the courses I took varied from Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics to Music, but I settled on Physics for my bachelors degree. Besides two summer research projects and an REU in computational physics, I have also worked on an augmented reality and computer vision project in my undergraduate years. Other than academics and research, I enjoy reading and discussing philosophy of science and the impact it (in particular, advances in physics and computing) will have on the future society.

Current Responsibilities

I am working with Prof. Mike Kirby on research problems in uncertainty quantification, visualization, and generalized polynomial chaos (gPC) based methods for stochastic PDE simulations in different application areas, such as biophysics and fluid dynamics.

Research Interests

  • Computational Physics
  • Scientific Visualization
  • Condensed Matter, Quantum Mechanics
  • Machine Learning
  • Augmented Reality & HCI
  • Any interesting problem in physics, CS or math!
