Opportunities at SCI
Join one of the most exciting and groundbreaking research environments. The Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute focuses on interdisciplinary research by harnessing the most advanced computer technology to solve the most challenging problems in science. The SCI Institute is truly a multidisciplinary environment, bringing together internationally recognized experts in cardiology, neuroscience, bioengineering, physics, mechanics, geology, mathematics, and computer science. We seek to create new scientific computing techniques, tools, and systems that enable solutions to problems affecting many aspects of human life.SCI Institute researchers also apply many of the above computational techniques within their own particular application domains, including fluid dynamics, atmospheric dynamics, biomechanics, cardiac and neural electrophysiology and bioelectric fields, inverse problems, and medical imaging.
If you share our passion and have the talent and drive, you could be part of our team. We are currently seeking the best candidates to fill our open positions. Please see if any of them are right for you. We look forward to hearing from you.
If you are a student interested in joining a research project/group at SCI, please review the faculty list (link) and identify those who pursue research that interests you. Then contact those faculty individually by email and please include in that message:
- A summary of your interests and ambitions, both technical/scientific and educational, and
- A resume that includes your past experience and especially the courses you have completed
Graduate Student Research Assistantships
The Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) Institute is an exciting place to do your graduate studies. We currently have over 80 graduate students from multiple departments working with SCI Institute faculty on their degrees. If you are a highly motivated student pursing a graduate degree (Ph.D. or M.S.), please apply to the Ph.D. program in:- Computer Science
- Computing
- Biomedical Engineering
- Mathematics
- Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Or another related Ph.D. program.
