Current Research

I am working on MRI image processing and analysis of the heart using open source software from the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute including Seg3D and ShapeWorks. We are specifically focused on the left atrium and its role in atrial fibrillation.

I also work with physicians as part of the Intermountain Center of Excellence for Infection Prevention Strategies (INTERCEPT) and Decision Support in Infectious Disease Epidemiology (DSIDE). We design computer programs modeling infection outbreaks in hospitals and along Wasatch Front communities, in an effort to study the dynamics of infectious disease epidemics, and to provide intervention training and decision support to public health officials.
