Note: unless specified, all photos have been taken in the Salt Lake/Wasatch Front area.
Setting up the Meade LX90 with equatorial mount
  1. Set up the tripod so that it is level.
  2. Put the telescope in horizontal position and so that it is pointing north.
  3. Plug in the computer and hold the mode button for a few seconds to switch to the telescope position control. Raise the telescope to the compliment to your latitude (49o 23') and center it on Polaris.
  4. Turn off the computer, turn it on again, and do the standard set up. Choose one star alignment.
