Four people stand with finalist certificates

Three Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) Institute students under faculty member Jeffrey A. Weiss were selected as finalists in the student paper competition at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Summer Bioengineering Conference, and a fourth finalist is a recently defended Ph.D. graduate under affiliate faculty member Lucas Timmins.

The four biomedical engineering students were selected based on the quality of their two-page extended abstracts. For the Ph.D.-level competition, reviewers chose 36 finalists from a pool of over 200. At the undergraduate level, they tapped 23 finalists from over 100 submissions. Weiss was especially pleased to report that all three of his students who entered the competition were named finalists.

Congratulations to the finalists, their advisors, and their collaborators:

Luke Hudson, Ph.D. student
