BrainStimulator is a set of networks that are used in SCIRun to perform simulations of brain stimulation such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and magnetic transcranial stimulation (TMS).

ed-sraCongratulations to our own Grants and Accounting Manager, Edward Black who has been elected President-elect of the Society of Research Administrators (SRA) International.

The SRA is dedicated to the education and professional development of research administrators working in varied organizational settings as well as the advancement of research administration as a profession around the world. As President-elect, Edward will serve as second in command of the organization and co-chair of their annual meeting. In one year, when the current President steps down, Edward will assume the office of President. After serving as President for a year Edward will serve an additional year as an advisor to the next president. Although Ed will be assuming new responsibilities in his role with the SRA, we're happy to report that he will not be leaving SCI.

This honorary designation is limited to no more than one-tenth of one percent of the total voting IEEE Institute membership each year.
harsh-llnlCongratulations to Harsh Bhatia on receiving the Lawrence Scholar Graduate Fellowship. Lawrence Scholars are appointed a position at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and paid a full salary for up to 4 years to pursue their proposed research.
valerio-doeCongratulations to Valerio Pascucci who has been recognized as a DOE Fellow. Dr. Pascucci was inducted in September at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) where he is a member of the Scientific Data Management Group. The designation of DOE Fellow is the top scientific achievement designation within DOE and recognizes an individual's outstanding contributions to the scientific and engineering community.
miriah-35Congratulations to Miriah Meyer who has been selected by Technology Review Magazine as one of the world's top innovators under 35 years of age who's work promises to change the world. Each year Technology Review seeks young candidates from around the world who are developing innovative solutions to important problems.

A panel of expert judges selects the top 35. Dr. Meyer was chosen due to her development of a software system that allows scientists to explore genomic, molecular, and chemical data in new ways that bring out corrolations and relationships that where never before accessible.

The v|100 designation is given to those individuals voted most likely to lead a successful business venture in Utah within the next few years. The v|100 is designed to help entrepreneurs and vSpring Capital establish and cultivate relationships among top CEO and CTO talent in the region. Members of this elite executive community are chosen through a peer-nominated and peer-selected process. Top members of the Utah business community were surveyed by a vSpring team to nominate the top 100 ventrue entrepreneurs in Utah. 2010 marks the seventh year of the v|100 Community. Greg was also selected as a v|100 member in 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2005.

This is the second year he has achieved this award which is given to just ten students in the country each year. The NVIDIA Fellowship Program provides funding to Ph.D. students who are conducting research on topics which are expected to lead to major advances in the graphics and digital media industry, and are investigating innovative ways of leveraging the power of graphics hardware. Huy Vo's graduate adviser is SCI faculty member Dr. Cláudio T. Silva.
