Designed especially for neurobiologists, FluoRender is an interactive tool for multi-channel fluorescence microscopy data visualization and analysis.
Deep brain stimulation
BrainStimulator is a set of networks that are used in SCIRun to perform simulations of brain stimulation such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and magnetic transcranial stimulation (TMS).
Developing software tools for science has always been a central vision of the SCI Institute.

Background

Dr. Lam received his B.A. (2010) and M.Phil. (2012) in Philosophy from Lingnan University (Hong Kong), and his M.S. (2019) and PhD (2023) in Logic, Computation, and Methodology from Carnegie Mellon University. His PhD dissertation, titled “Causal Razors and Causal Search Algorithms”, was supervised by Prof. Peter Spirtes and Prof. Joseph Ramsey. The dissertation engages in an exploration of various theoretical assumptions essential to causal discovery. Additionally, it introduced a permutation-based causal search algorithm, which demonstrated superior performance compared to state-of-the-art methods.

Current Responsibilities

Develop and apply methods in predictive and causal modeling of complex biomedical and social processes.
