Presentation of Deformable Model Segmentation by "Snakes" continued, see materials
and web-demos
- 11/21/12: Finish Generalized Hough Transform
GHT / Starting discussion of SNAKES (slides, notes and original paper uploaded,
see also online demos) // Deadline Project 4 extended
to 11/28
- 11/19/12: Generalized Hough Transform

- 11/14/12: Lecture HT II and Generalized
Hough Transform. See notes, slides and paper by Ballard & Brown uploaded.
- 11/12/12: Lecture Hough Transform II:
See slides and handwritten notes uploaded. See also links to Java demos
for circle detection. Deadline Project 3: Monday 11/12
midnight. // Project 4 uploaded.
- 11/07/12: Lecture Hought Transform
I, slides and handwritten notes uploaded. See also links to online Java
demos.
- 11/06/12: UPDATED
Project 2 (deadline Monday 11-12) including details on forward warping
and a hint to do the backwards process (changes marked in red). Also,
a checkerboard test image is uploaded. The
handwritten notes on warping with RBF interpolation is updated accordingly.
- 11/05/12: Summarize "warping" using
radial basis functions. Discuss image mosaicing, new slides are uploaded.
- 10/31/12:
Final Project: Please draft a project idea with a working title and
a short paragraph explaining WHAT you want to do, on WHAT TYPE of image
data, WHICH Methods you need to apply and develop, and what you expect
as project outcome. Please submit this
project draft summary to the handin in subfolder "finalprojects"
- 10/31/12:
Please note change of deadline for Project 3 from 11-07 to 11-12 since
we only discussed warping via RBFs in the today's class.
- 10/31/12: Return of grading of
midterm and of project 2. Discussion of "splatting" for transformation
f to g, and discussion of warping by radial basis functions.
- 10/28/12:
NO CLASS 10/29 due to traveling / New materials for Project 3 on solution
to overconstrained linear equation system uploaded. Grading of midterm/project
2 not yet completed.
- 10/24/12:
Calculation of transformation from landmarks / Image warping / Project 3 is out, see web-page
- 10/15/12: Based on student
requests, I have uploaded the Quizz with solutions, and 1 page notes
on noise reduction by averaging. See main page under Midterm Readings
- 10/15/12: Start Discussion
of Geometric Registration (see slides) / Grading Scores Project 1 available
(pdf)
- 10/07/12:
Topics and organization of Midterm Exam (Wed 10/17): See description
(pdf) ,
as previously announced the midterm will cover all materials discussed
in class so far.
- 10/06/12: Slides Fourier
Transform as used in class uploaded.
- 10/01/12:
Fourier Transform, guest lecture Marcel Prastawa, PhD, Res. Ass.
Prof. CS, draft slides uploaded, and materials is also found in the
book Chapter 4. Midterm: This will cover all topics discussed in the course,
including chapters 1,2 and 3 of the book and class slides and materials.
A more detailed list will be provided by Wednesday. Style is similar
to the recent Quizz.
