I am a PhD student at SCI Institute at the University of Utah since Fall 2008 and I am under supervision of Prof. Cláudio T. Silva. I finished both my Bsc. and Msc. in Computer Science at the Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e de Computação at University of São Paulo, Brazil. I have also spent a wonderful time at Université D'Avignon et des Pays de Vaucluse, in Avignon .
My research interests are scientific visualization, simulation for animation and computational geometry.
Visualization is the means to which often scientists can gain insight. However, there is a underlying assumption that visualization process itself is completely trustable. This project aims at including the visualization as part of the Verification and Validation (V&V) pipeline. The paper by C. T. Silva and R. M. Kirby The Need for Verifiable Visualization presents some reasons for incorporation of V&V for visualization on the simulation pipeline. Read more .
