VisWeek 2009 Student Volunteer Task Selection
Requirements for using this page:
- You can use any browser, but be sure to have JavaScript
enabled. We ourselves have tested it using Firefox and Safari.
When choosing your tasks
- Plan your schedule ahead of time.
- Look for the presentations you want to assist and work in them.
- Have a list of priorities. Try to enter your tasks according with those priorities.
- Try to choose first the tasks that are more probable to be picked up (category 1).
- Leave category 7 task at the end. Everybody has to have that one and there is one for each
one of you. Hence, you're not competing for that task.
- If you are giving a talk or presentation DO NOT choose any task at that time.
- Have a plan B (and C, D, etc for that matter)
About timing
- If you are choosing a task on Friday 9th or Saturday 10th, (besides training), please give yourself enough time to get
to the hotel, and check-in.
- Same for Friday 16th: give yourself enough time to check out, and enough time to get to the airport. Do not expect to
finish your tasks earlier than posted in the schedule.
About the this page
- Please be patient. The program is not completely interactive. That means a task might have been taken by
another SV before you could refresh. Move on and keep trying
your other options. Hit the Refresh Task List to get the most up-do-date task list.
- It helps to be on time. Most of the good tasks are gone in the first few minutes.
About the tasks
- We split up the list in categories to make the browsing
easier.
- The available task list can be found in the Task
Search Form section of the selection webpage.
- The available lists change constantly; therefore, to have the most
recent version you need to refresh the page. Do that by
hitting the Refresh Task List button.
