Designed especially for neurobiologists, FluoRender is an interactive tool for multi-channel fluorescence microscopy data visualization and analysis.
Deep brain stimulation
BrainStimulator is a set of networks that are used in SCIRun to perform simulations of brain stimulation such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and magnetic transcranial stimulation (TMS).
Developing software tools for science has always been a central vision of the SCI Institute.
epicanvas2012Congratulations to Yarden Livnat and Nathan Galli, et. al. whose paper received the 1st place Award for Outstanding Research Article in Biosurveillance in the Scientific Achievement Category by the International Society for Disease Surveillance (ISDS). This paper describes the development of a new software prototype designed to explore infectious disese data in an interactive visual way that will allow public health professionals to find spacial and temporal correlations, a kind of "disease weather map."

This publication has also been awarded the Homer R. Warner Award at the AMIA Annual Symposium. This award recognizes the publication that best describes approaches to improving computerized information acquisition, knowledge data acquisition and management, and experimental results documenting the value of these approaches. The candidate papers are drawn from the distinguished paper nominees recommended by the AMIA Annual Symposium Scientific Program Committee, and the selection of the recipient is made by the University of Utah Department of Biomedical Informatics.
