Unified Virtual Environment

VR Tools

We have developed a new software framework for immersive visualization applications, the Unified Virtual Environment (UVE). Our framework transparently supports a variety of hardware environments through a device layer abstraction. Thus, an application may run in any supported environment without modification. We are also currently investigating the synergistic benefits of haptic scientific visualization using an integrated, semi-immersive virtual environment, the Visual Haptic Workbench. Shown here are example visualizations from UVE applications running on the Visual Haptic Workbench, a projected wall display, and the desktop.
