Remote Visualization In its simplest terms remote visualization allows users to view data from afar. Research in this are has focused on several varying problem scenarios. For example, data may be too large or complex to be viewed with local resources. Being able to render remotely on a supercomputer and view the results interactively on a wireless laptop is a useful solution. Also, collaborative remote visualization is being explored. This recent interest has been fueled by the use of interactive viewing as the primary means by which researchers explore large datasets. However, researchers often need to extend this interactivity in order to collaborate with colleagues who are geographically separated. |
