Background

  • 2002- present: Ph.D. student, Bioengineering, University of Utah
  • 1998-2001: Pre-clinical Medical School Curriculum, Rush Medical College
  • 1993-1998: BS Mechanical Engineering, Oregon State University
  • 1997: Engineering Co-op Internship, Oregon Metallurgical Corp.
  • 1996: Engineering Co-op Internship, Sequent Computer Systems

Current Responsibilities

Determine in vitro and in vivo mechanical properties of soft tissue using Hyperelastic Warping, a deformable image registration technique. The application of Hyperelastic Warping to medical image data extracts quantitative information from sequences of image data of deforming structures, and it will provide a method for non-invasive measurement of three-dimensional soft tissue strain.

Research Interests

  • Soft Tissue Biomechanics
  • Image Registration
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
