Musculoskeletal Research Labs

Background

  • B.S. Biomedical Engineering, University of Utah, 2007
  • Worked 2005-2007 in U of Utah Musculoskeletal Research Lab (MRL) on NIH funded projects examining the effects of mechanical environment changes to angiogenic microvessels.
  • 2007-2008 worked with R&D lower-limb prosthetics engineering group at Otto Bock healthcare.
  • 2007-present continued work in MRL on NIH funded examination of cartilage contact mechanics in dysplastic and normal human hip joints.

Current Responsibilities

PhD studentship with Dr. Andrew Anderson. Working with members of MRL and Dumke Orthopedic Research Lab to continue characterization of hip joint biomechanics.

Research Interests

  • Finite Element modeling of joint biomechanics.
  • Accurate capture and processing of joint kinematics and kinetics using marker and markerless data capture techniques, as well as musculoskeletal modeling programs.
