My Homepage

Background

I have completed my B. Tech. in Information & Communication Technology from DA-IICT (India), in 2007, with Computer Science as my major. During my undergrad studies, I was a part of the MAGNeT research group. The title of my B.Tech. project thesis was 'Application of QNA to analyze the 'Queueing Network Mobility Model' of MANET', where we modeled MANETs using Queueing Theory, and analyzed it using a technique called QNA.

Before joining the University of Utah for MS in Computational Engineering & Science, I worked with Infosys Technologies, Bangalore as a software engineer for about 10 months. About one year into my MS, I decided to pursue my research deeply, and switched to PhD in Graphics and Visualization in Spring 2011.

Current Responsibilities

I am a part of the Data Analysis & Visualization group at SCI, lead by Prof. Valerio Pascucci. We are working on the topological analysis of vector fields, more specifically using combinatorial methods. I am also working on understanding the Helmholtz-Hodge Decomposition, and Jacobi Sets Simplification.

Research Interests

A gamut of areas fascinate me. Given some spare time from my current work and responsibilities, I would like to be involved in Mathematical Modeling & Simulation, Scientific Visualization, Probability Theory & Stochastic Processes, Markov Models & Queueing Theory, Computational Geometry, & Algorithms.
