Visualization Journal Club - Summer 2014

Mission Statement

This group aims to facilitate students, faculty, and curious onlooker knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques in all areas of Visualization (scientific visualization, information visualization, and visual analytics). To accomplish this, as a group we will read and discuss seminal works, best papers, and other papers of interest.

Format

  • A 1-3 paragraph paper summary will be provided by the discussion leader the night before the meeting.
  • At the open, the discussion leader will summarize the paper.
  • Open discussion will commence. Everyone should come prepared, having read the paper, along with 1 positive attribute of the paper, 1 negative attribute of the paper, and 1 question about the paper or a topic for future research.

Schedule

Held weekly on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Halvorsen Conference Room (WEB 4640). Drop-ins welcome.
