Stereocilia Bundle

This movie made by NRIMS (http://www.nrims.hms.harvard.edu/) (National Resource for Imaging Mass Spectrometry NIH NIBIB/NCRR P41) shows the variation in protein turnover in an inner ear stereocillia bundle (mouse fed diet enriched with 15Nleucine). One can see a high rate of turnover at the apex of hair cells and stereocilia tips (where tip links are attached) and low turnover in stereocilia proper.
