 <title><![CDATA[Long Range Axon Tracking in Primates]]></title>

 <description><![CDATA[<a href="http://www.sci.utah.edu/gallery2/v/ncr/2011_Primate.html"><img border="0" src="http://www.sci.utah.edu/gallery2/d/4335-3/2011_Primate" width="150" height="84"/></a><br/>Interactive visualization and segmentation of extremely large neuronal microscopy volumes to facilitate long range axon tracking in primate brains.  20X confocal microscopy of macaque limbic system.<br />
5 serial sections, four channels each, ~9K by 9K pixels by 16 slices (each section), mosaicked and aligned using ir-tools (NCR toolset).<br />
NeuroTracker, using Visus technology, can interactively view the entire 32G dataset interactively, switching between channels and viewing multiple channels simultaneously. Using volume rendering or iso surfacing.<br />
Also performs segmentation at interactive rates using voxel scooping algorithm from Rodriguez et al, automatically selecting seeds using maxima from topological analysis. Segmentations result in centerlines for the axons which can be analyzed and used to further align the sections.]]></description>

 <title><![CDATA[Automatic TEM Image Alignment]]></title>

Alignment was performed using the Neural Circuit Reconstruction Toolset.  The information obtained from these images will lead to important discoveries about neuron connectivity.]]></description>

 <title><![CDATA[NeuroTracker Prototype]]></title>

The data comes from our collaborators at the Brain Institute at the University of Utah and has been imported using the Iris application, which extends the ir-tools developed at the SCI Institute. This visualization was produced using the NeuroTracker prototype application.]]></description>
