1. SLIVR
   • use the quick application that Marty wrote as a starting point
     • uses QT and python
     • standalone/bioimage is there this app lives
     • event system is the same as Seg3D
   • SLIVR is tied into Visit (Vacet SW)
   • Michael will get to the rewerite in the next week or two
   • Allen will dig into the code in two weeks
   • large data handling
     • support for bricks
     • little LOD support, can draw fewer slices
     • also plan was to keep low res texture around while user moves data around
2. 2D Xfer function UI
   • painting is useful
   • reading in 1D Xfer function as scanning tool
   • Dave mentioned some research from the NL that might be useful
   • MIRL group paper has some ideas
3. Time dependence
   • much of the computing happens on the card so is fast
   • preformance is pretty good as long as memory adequate
4. Multiresolutions
   • draw multiplle volumes at different resolutions
   • e.g., high res heart in a low res torso
   • each v olume has its own parameters for display, Xfer function
