Following are screen shots from my volume renderer after adding 2D
transfer functions and simple phong shading. All of the screen shots
are from the Visible Female left hand data which has been resampled to
128 cubed.

This is a basic two piece transfer function with specular and diffuse
shading. I made a mistake measuring FPS on some of the screenshots so
the number was removed to avoid confusion.

After fixing FPS and finding another interesting region in the
histogram.

Similar view point with far fewer slices.

Comparison of perspective based slicing (left) with uniform slicing
(right). There appears to be more noise in the background (hip bone and
skin region) and there are small differences in the foreground,
although most features are maintained. There is no lighting in
these two screen shots. They were taken from a 9700pro the others are
off the nv40.
